Want to know one of the secrets to writing a long form comic story for 5 plus years (and counting)? Make sure you write characters you enjoy spending time with. Even the villains-make 'em extensions of some of the darker parts of yourself (and hopefully you're not a real sicko) so that you can exercise some of those demons through your characters. And then really root for your good guys. Oh, and take breaks from your story so that you miss being with your characters. It makes is so much sweeter when you return to the desk after a break having missed being in the world you've built-which is a bonus tip. There: two tips for the price of one.
